Welcome to the 2012 Mardi Gras Soiree
Please join us on February 11th, 2012 at Austin Country Club for our “Mardi Gras Soiree.” This enchanting evening will be filled with touches of Mardi Gras “spice” weaved throughout the entire event. You will enjoy and dance to a world class live jazz band, enjoy a delicious Cajun fare, a silent and live auction, along with other fun surprises! As a result of this amazing evening, almost 1,000 A World For Children foster children across the state will benefit from 100% of the event’s net proceeds.
Your generous contributions of the evening will go directly to AWFC’sr “Bridging the Gap” program, which includes a myriad of areas of services for which the state does not provide funding.
This includes::
- Jump Start – When a child comes into care, often times in the middle of the night, they arrive with only the clothing on their little bodies, if that. This funding provides the proper outfitting and hygiene needed to begin stabilizing our dear children.
- School Supplies – In an effort to build self-esteem and dignity on the first days of school, your contributions will empower a child to start the school year off right.
- Christmas – Most of our children have never experienced a true Christmas. The holidays to them are adults drinking too much, and/or being physically or sexually abused. Your donations will bless a child with a healthy, loving Christmas experience.
- Summer Adventure – Most foster children have never had the experience of traveling outside of their hometown. Our summer adventure, which in recent years has been a trip to Fiesta Texas, provides a child not only a day of excitement, but also empowers them by being able to share their experience with classmates, friends, etc. with the utmost dignity.
